In 2019, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) in collaboration with the Alliance for Useful Evidence launched the Bazalgette Professorship Champion of Evidence Award. The Award recognises a Fellow of FPH for major contributions to public health policy and/or practice through research translation for the benefit of UK population health.

The 2019 Award winner is Ian Roberts, Professor of Epidemiology & Public Health and co-director of the Clinical Trials Unit at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Professor Roberts has been awarded the Bazalgette professorship for translating his research on tranexamic acid in the management of acute severe bleeding into practice, benefiting populations in the UK and globally.

At this event on 14 May 2019 we will celebrate Professor Roberts’ incredible work and hear from him on his research as he delivers the Bazalgette Lecture.

Please note that this lecture is now fully booked.
