Public Health in the Emergency Services

20 Oct - 20 Oct 2023

Virtual Event, Online

Time: 10:00 - 12:00

The decision to take a public health approach within policing, the ambulance service, and the fire and rescue service offers an exciting and effective opportunity to reduce crime and violence, prevent ill health, and improve wellbeing.

Please join us to learn from speakers representing each of the emergency services, who will discuss how public health approaches are influencing the way emergency services operate.

We will hear from:

  • Ged Devereux from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Strategic Health Lead at National Fire Chiefs Council

  • Christine Camacho, Public Health Registrar at the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and contributor to the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives’ (AACE) National Consensus Statement on Health Inequalities

  • Dr Andrew Snell, Consultant in Public and Global Health and Doctor in Emergency Medicine

  • Superintendent Justin Srivastava from Lancashire Constabulary and Strategic Policy and Workforce Development Lead for the Lancashire Violence Reduction Network

This event is organised by the newly formed FPH Emergency Services SIG, which is welcoming new members. Please see the SIG’s webpage for further information.
